Zoning at Haldimand County has traditionally been a problem from a data perspective. From an unconsolidated Zoning program comprised of three separate documents on through to data stored in referenced scanned images access through AutoCAD. The business problems that result in such a cumbersome data storage and access technique have had real costs associated with them. In 2017 GIS and Planning staff began developing a consolidated zoning program focused on easy access to information from the public and staff alike. GIS Staff focused heavily on the use of ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online as a solution platform.
