Chris Eckstein is passionate about maps. He has broad experience with GIS, IM and IT, is a lifelong learner, and champions the value proposition of using geography-based technologies. Chris started his career with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, followed by opportunities at the Grand River Conservation Authority and the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, and has boomeranged twice. Today, Chris manages the Ministry’s GIS Centre of Excellence which develops enterprise solutions and services that support program delivery. He establishes strategic direction, negotiates provincial software agreements, advocates using a common government platform, and fosters collaboration and sharing of knowledge.
